Patoka

I've been more active in the general and johnson boards, but was hoping one of the local 'club' guys could help me out.

Long story short, I've been fishing for years and just got my first boat this past winter. We are a boating family but unfortunately my gpa recently passed away leaving my gma with a houseboat on Patoka. We've been trying to help her with it but travel is tough and I think the days are numbered, she just can't handle it herself and we all have kids now so it's tough. Anyway, my uncle has been helping the most and he asked me to go down there this weekend to help with some maintenance needed. He is not a fisherman but asked me to bring the bass boat so we could get out...I think he just wants a diversion and I'm happy to oblige.

I've fished Patoka once, for about an hour, but would really like to put him on some fish and show him a good time. Would any of you be willing to point me in a good direction, maybe share a spot or two? I understand deep grass is where it's at. We'll be at Hoosier Hills which I believe is near some good stuff. I stayed at Fisherman's campground a few weeks ago but my 2 and 6 year old made it tough to scout anything out or get a good read on the graph. They had a blast camping though!

If anyone is ever up at Geist, Morse, or White River (Indy), let me know. I'll be happy to return the favor.

I dunno about that area but my all time go to spot up there is the cove to the right if your coming out of the state park ramp ,,go all the way back towards the road and small bridge..Usually good grass and some good bites back in there,its never let me down,Now ive only fished it twice this year but ive never been shut out back in there

No probs..i believe zach g and a few other guys have fished it recently in some T's so may want to check with a few of those guys as well,
