On my 1992 Evinrude 225-HP V6, the engine cooling system incorporates a valve linked to the throttle. I believe this is called "Power Cooling".
What was the intention of this valve arrangement? I believe it affected the engine running temperature at speeds below about 2,000-RPM.
I think this feature was re-designed on later models of this V6, as the valve seems to be gone
from the starboard side of the engine block on newer engines.
Is it possible to re-fit a c.1992 engine's cooling system to the newer non-Power Cooling design?
If a re-fit is possible, would you recommend it?
