Art Carney - Licking the mops at Porcini's since 2009.
Big Bear, Buck Horn, Kenlake, Ky Dam, there are a number of places you can put in at.you may have to wade a little water at the Dam. You can also put in at Double Creek over at Barkley.
The lake is not closed at our end Kyle, the BFL is going on as set.
Rodney, I think it is closed
***RIVER CLOSED FROM PADUCAH, KY., TO PICKWICK LANDING, TENN.***
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The U.S. Coast Guard Tuesday closed more than 200
miles of the western Tennessee River to recreational boating traffic
because of record high water levels and excessive river drift.
The Captain of the Port for Coast Guard Sector Ohio Valley has
declared that no recreational vessels may operate in the established
safety zone from mile marker 206 (Pickwick Landing) to mile marker 0
(Paducah, Ky.).
We just saw that info, we are checking with the Coast Guard as we speak to see if that is correct. If it is correct that will be a history maker for sure. I still think there must be a mistake, in another post it was stated that 0 starting point was in Knox Tenn and ran 200 miles.
I called them Rodney, they had the incorrect starting point at first. They have corrected the website since I called.

Yep....for recreational purposes...don't want to argue that one in a Federal Court or with an insurance company or some widow's attorney.
Mile marker 0 is at Paducah Rodney. The Tennessee river is closed from Paducah to Pickwick, and the BFL is canceled, per phone call to FLW headquarters.
There was talk on another forum from a riverboat captain that this closure may only affect the channel itself and not the bays.
Does anyone know if this is correct?
It certainly wouldn't help a tournament situation but you may be able to at least fish (if you can get your boat in the water).
I have sent emails to the CG trying to find out what the safety zone is...one would think it would be within so much distance from the channel or shoreline but without knowing what they have established for the safety zone in this situation leaves doubt in everyone's mind as to whether they can legally be on the lakes in a bay or creek or what....![]()
Saw on another forum where the CG was escorting someone off the lake that was not on the main lake so I guess my question has been answered..time to kick back and enjoy a cold one.
Yep, cancelled my weelend plans. My buddy who was on vacation said they launched this morning at Kenlake and when they returned to eat lunch... Asked them to get off the lake. He said heavy mud and current was starting to show up in the back of the bays.

A coworker just got off of the phone with a buddy that is on the lake right this minute. The CG stopped him and told him to stay in Big Sandy and he would be fine.. only the channel portion of the lake is closed.
WTH?
