I was down there yesterday and it was nice day on the water except for the fog. If you go in the very back of the creeks the shad are everywhere but we couldn't get bit back there. Most of our fish came on the main lake or pockets off the main lake. The bites we did get were on jigs, jerkbaits, and shaky heads. Temps in the low to mid 50's so I bet it will be turning over anytime now.
It has been hit or miss. Most tournaments have been taking between 9-15lbs to win. Most fish are on the main lake, or near it. There have been some schooling fish in the mouths of small creeks. The schools are spots with some smallies mixed in. Fish jigs deep on main lake and secondary points. If it is sunny just keep your eyes out for schoolers and have a spoon and topwater tied on. Main lake is 60 degrees, backs of small creeks are 58-59. I'd fish from Conley to the dam.
I would say you are right on. Just got a report that a guy could not bass fish in the head of a creek today cause he kept chasin all the stripers that were bustin. He managed a couple large mouth but could not remember the exact number of stripers. Said it was a ball.![]()
