My son and I are hoping to spend a day on the water at Dale with a guide that can put us on fish and teach us a few tricks. Looking for a mid October trip.

go to http://www.smalljaw.com and join. Go to the forum and ask around. There are several good guides on there. Each has their own specialty. Some good guys over there.

Mid October is a mix of everything in my opinon. According to my notes from last year, they were fixed hard on live bait during that time but still eating a jig some and also being caught at night.

Day Time Andrew Robertson or Keith Palmeiro both these guys are on it!
If you are looking to troll for trophies, there is another guy Capt. Dave that goes by "Fish Finder General" on smalljaw. He's got that trolling down and produces monsters!
