My Sospenders went off earlier this year. But fishing 4 days in some god-aweful downpours may have contributed to that.

My Mustang went off in my rod locker the other day. It's an older one without the new fancy inflator. Either way it sucks cause I've been so dang careful with it for the past 2 years and this is the first time its gone off.

Don't trust them to go off when you need or don't need them.

    Re: Lesson Learned (buzzking)

If I had the money...I'd get the one that's only supposed to go off due to water pressure, mositure, rain, etc aren't supposed to make that type fire. But those bad boys cost around $290. My BassCat life jacket is still a good deal compared to that.

We got two of the mustang hydrostatic auto inflators, and they have never gone off. Been in the rain and all, and not one problem. We got ours for 99.99 at Bass Pro when they had them on sale!

I have 2 Mustang Hydrostatic auto Inflatables, one is over 3 yrs old and other one is about a yr old and never had any trouble out of either of them, and they never leave the boat, & I always have one on even while fishing.

I paid $9 each for mine plus $20 each for a rearming kits. Found 2 of them previously inflated at an overstock store. Blew them up manually and sat on them in the store. Worked like a champ.

$9 bucks for a $150 vest.... I'd buy those re-arming kits all day long if I could find a deal like that

I've had them go off when in the rod box and in the truck and not even wet. Also tested a couple and they didn't go off when we jumped in.

I've got 2 that never leave the barn now. I'll never trust my life to them.

I new there was a reason why i have not ever got one of those. Yea i would rather spend the $100 left over on tackle and what have you.

That's what would scare me. I will never own one.
