Josh as mentioned already you have the river and then the river....why I moved from Florance to my present location. Only good fishing lakes are more than 2 hrs away.

Josh there is one decent lake to fish around that area. Brookville lake can be good fishing at times and it is right at an hour away in Indiana. Other than that you are looking at a couple of lakes at 2hrs drive and bunch of them 3-4hrs away.

Re: Northern Kentucky fishing areas (FastCat250)

I don't fish a lot of the smaller lakes around here. I am hooked on the bigger ones. I have tried Kincaid a couple of times it just gets beat to death. The only days I can make it out there is on the weekend with everyone else in the area.

If you dont care to add an hour and half to your drive you can be to Lake cumberland and dale hollow. Dale has been red hot since back in the fall and cumberland is getting ready to turn on

Northern Kentucky is Awesome. You have fishing in every direction. Local smaller lakes are loaded, the river is great, you can drive 2-3 hours and be at a lot of great lakes like Cumberland and Dale Hollow.

The region is one of the best. A lot of jobs, around 10 Fortune 500 companies that drive the economy. Stay in northern kentucky though for housing, when you cross the river the prices go up.

Being raised in somewhat northern kentucky, the area isn't exactly what I would call awesome for fishing.

Re: Northern Kentucky fishing areas (519te)

Ohio River, Kincaid, Boltz, Bullock Pen, Williamstown Lake and Brookville Lake, IN and East Fork Lake, OH. All have decent fishing, but nothing like the south of here withing 2 hours, Herrington, Cave Run, Taylorsville, Guist Creek and Grayson Lake are all pretty good lakes. Licking River is pretty decent at times too as well as the creeks running into the Big O, Tanners Creek, Big Bone, Craigs Creek, White Oak, and Eagle Creek too.
