    KY Lake cabin???

I'm headed down in April for a few days and wondered if anyone could recommend a cabin or resort that is fairly nice. I would like to stay under $100 a night.

I was thinking arround mid-lake, i'll be going out with Dave one day and want to be able to get to Barkley easily also. Has anyone ever stayed at Sportsman Anchor Resort?

Moors is probably the best place and you should be able to get in there < $100.

Sportsmans nice access on Jonathan, small cabins do not know what is inside....Moors is hard to beat, State Park at the dam has very nice rooms or cabins.....Cozy cove used to have nice cabins, good restaurant at Moors

I used to stay at Sportsmans 3-4 times a year before I brought my camper up there and put it in a full time resort/campground. The hotel is recently remodeled and very nice. The cabins are a little older decor but very clean and include everything for you to stay comfortably. I would recommend them highly. Also, very nice people. As mentioned in another post, there is very decent ramp just over the hill and Moors is a 10 minute ride once you hit the main lake. The canal is probably 15-20 minute ride depending on the speed of your boat. Also a pretty quick run under the bridge to Kenlake and Blood River.

Kevin: I am not sure of their cabin rates but at the time of the month you have booked I would think seriously about staying at Ky Dam State Resort Park. Also you might check out Gingerwood Cabins. Here is my thinking on that....the time of the month you are booked Barkley is normally coming on with fish moving into the flowers...if the bass are early this year you will have good access to both lakes from there. If you stay in Jonathan and the wind gets up on Ky you will have a long trail to get to Barkley...if you stay on the north end you can be on either lake in just a few minutes.

I normally stay at the resort (Buchanan i think) just south of Paris landing. nice cabins there, but probably a little too far south for you.

Thanks for all the info guys! I never knew there were so many places to stay down there. From what I've come up with on avilability, cost, and amminities it looks like The Moors is the place to be. It's booked, I'm packed, boat's loaded so watch out KY Lake here I come.

I second what Dave said. I've stayed at Ky Dam State Park. They have some really nice cabins, most recently refurbished I think. Was there last April, I think a one bedroom cabin was around $90 per night. The Moors is a really great place to stay too, but the other place, as Dave said, is closer to the channel to Barkley.

The State park is nice, but my first choice would be Moors. Excellent facilities, restaurant and super hospitality. Mark Woods and his staff are first rate. Once there, you really won't have to leave the premises! One plus that isn't mentioned is that the State Park is so spread out, you will have to drive to the restaurant, etc. Everything at Moors is close and you can walk to dinner from your cabin.

I stayed at Gingerwood last year and it had great parking for truck and boat, fully equipped kitchens and a grill. Check out their rates.
