Will be waiting for updates. I have an older Skeeter that will be getting a makeover this year too; wet sand and wax, new carpet, new deck extension, stereo,......maybe more! Waiting for some warm weather, it is still to darn cold up here (Canada), to get the boat out of storage.

This site is fantastic, I have gotten so many tips and tricks and help and all questions definately get answered!

Re: MY RANGER 275V Make over project (Roddyrude)

First I want to say thanks to Roddyrude for pulling that pic out for me. I managed to get to do alittle work on it today in between people coming in, phone calls and sending my baby off to it`s new home(my procraft) had alittle tear in my eyes,,so this Ranger better turn out good..LOL

I took some fiberglass resin and put 2 heavy coats on the wooden deck extenion to seal it from water. The carpet was never glued to it anyway. I wet sanded the top cap and consoles then washed, then wiped them down with wax and grease remover. I masked off the rails and everything I didn`t want cleared. I was about to put 2 coats on it before I ran out of clear, but I`m not worried cause I`m going to wet sand those coats and put 2 more on to build the clear up. By monday I`ll be ready to do that and go get my carpet so I can get that in before i go try it out sometime this week. I think the blind guy and I will hit Cumberland to play awhile. I need a small break. today is day 18 that I`ve worked straight and most day are 12-14 hours So anyway I`m going to take pic`s of what I did tomorrow and post them..

Re: MY RANGER 275V Make over project (onemorecast56)

Well i got somemore pictures taken of what I`ve been working on. I`ve pulled all the carpet out and sealed the front deck. I installed 2 hatch lids that I had around here to replace the cooler type lids so the deck will be flat.[IMG][ttp://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b7dd35b3127cce8291bc91c06300000010100AYuWbZs2aNW NA/IMG]
I`ve got the motor working great now ready to try her out.[IMG][http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/4...bZs2aNWNA/IMG]http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b7dd35b3127cce8291b67ac08d00000025110AYuWbZs2aNW NA
I installed a water pressure gauge and trim gauge,,can`t beleive Ranger didn`t have a trim gauge in this boat. [IMG][/IMG]http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b7dd35b3127cce8291a626c0d900000016100AYuWbZs2aNW NA But I`m ready for carpet now, and I put the first 2 coats of clear on it and going to sand it down and add 2-3 more coats.See it shine?..got to get it in the sun. The dark spots in front of the consoles, I`m going to put some uphostered pads there and sides where they where when it was a F/S She`s going to look good when I`m done. I`ll post more later.
