Well got back from first smallie trip to dale a little while ago. Man that was a blast. It was a REALLY slow day. We tried crankbaits, jerkbaits, tubes, jigs, shakey heads, on main lake flats, points, ledges, bluffs, pea gravel, blah blah. We found one spot in Sulphur creek that was a nothing bank, a little bit of grass on a sloping pea gravel bank in about 17 ft. We caught 5 smallies there. It was strange, you had to put the bait in a really specific spot, maybe the size of the boat, or you wouldn't get bit. the fish went 3-10, 3-13, 3-15, 4-6, and 4-15 all coming on a green pumpkin tube and the PB&J jig that Jeff showed me. Man setting the hook on a smallie is NOTHING like on a green fish. it's like setting the hook on a stump. That was just awesome! Man I can't say thanks enough to you guys for all of your help. I have got to get back down there soon! as soon as I can figure out why my computer won't let me download from my camera I'll post some pics. Thanks again you guys!
