Got HOSED @ Lake Shafer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mike Daleo and I fihsed an open T on Lake Shafer today. Bite was pretty tough, we weighed 3 fish, caught all 3 on different baits, and a few shorts doing different things, made it pretty tough to put a pattern together.

I also want to add that we got screwed. We had big smallmouth of the T with a 3.47, also won big largemouth with a 2.47. Our 3 rd fish was a chunky largemouth that measured just under 15". Here's where the screwing started...................Total weight 6.6??????????? How the hell did that 3rd 15" fish only weigh .66 lb???????? We were the first team out of the money.................Guess who had 2 tenths more than us to win??? The T director.............guess who weighed his fish.............HE DID............hmmmmm...........

TVA.............Tippecanoe Valley Anglers put on this T.......Needless to say.......I'm not impressed with people who feel they have to cheat to get a check I'M PISSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On the plus side......Mike and I had a great time even though the bite was slow

Was the big fish side pot for the biggest fish of the day or did they have one for biggest small mouth and the biggest large mouth also.

Those numbers just don't add up. If it was me I would have won the biggest large mouth pot because every one would have heard a few loud choice words coming out of my mouth at .66 that 15" fish must have been on the slim fast diet

We had two sidepots, one for Big SM and one for Big LM, we did get both of those. But since when does the guy running the tourney weigh his own fish?

Had a good time and we'll do it again, just not with TVA.

I agree I don't like to see them measure or weigh their own fish. The club I used to fish in had a policy that whoever drew the chip for boat starting position number 5 would get their fish checked in then they would be responsible to go to the tournament directors boat which would be parked next to the scales,get their fish out and bring them to the scales and measure/ weigh them. Our director never even touched his fish and since it was a random draw for starting position there was always a different team handling there fish. I thought that was a good way to stay away from any conflict.

You did win biggest LM and SM I guess they could not take a good butt whipping buy handing you a third check.

You guys did get HOSED! Really is a shame...worse than that. Sounds like it was NOT an accident. Getting a bad break from a mistake is really tough, but this smells of something far worse. If there is anyway to prove it, they should be banned from fishing any other tournaments.....period! Including BFL, Indiana Federation etc., etc.

Has anyone tried to call the tournament director or someone at the club? I would make darn sure that everyone in that club knew what happened. Especially your 15 inch fish that weighed .66 lbs. Probably many, if not most of the members of the club are honest as you guys are and had no idea. My guess is if they find out what happened there could be consequences to the guy or guys that did the dirty deed.
