I'am going down to Barkley Thursday for a small club tourney this weekend wondering if anyone has any hot info? Also if the water should be at pool this weekend?
Thanks Joe

I do know they dropped both lakes three feet this past Thursday. The bite was pretty good before that happened. Take a look at Kentuckylake.com they have fishing reports for both Barkley and Kentucky. Dave Stewart post his information as well as in the fishing reports section of BBC. Look for any of his post, that should help.
It was tough Saturday. Fished the jet-a-marina open and it took 19 lbs of post spawn smallmouth to take both first and second. 8-12 feet deep on northern KY lake. We had 13-14 off of southern Barkley and took 9th place. Caught on 8"Grn Pumk worms w/ Chart Tail fishing 2-6 ft deep. also caught some butnot any on Spinnerbaits in wind murkied water. There are some in middle and back 3rd of creeks. not necessarily on cover, but did catchfish out of brush. Put it this way, it was tough Thurs - Sat for us no more than 10 fish per day. Water was 2 feet down and Its really too clear for normal Barkley so if you go shallow, need to really be quiet and slow. If the water gets up head directly to or just before the spawning areas, the females were about dripping eggs and the water was getting up to 67 at end of each sunny day. About 62 deg in morning. My buddy did catch some on a jig 6-8 feet deep on Northern Barkley. He came in the money during the FOP. I had a report of them coming out of the buckbrush last weekend when the water was up higher.
GoodLuck.
Thanks for the info guys looks like we will have to do some searching on Friday.
