1999 Evinrude 225 ficht tilt/trim problem

I was out on the water sunday when the tilt/trim stopped working. Long story short, got it home, stuck in the down position naturally. I had 12V going to the motor. Motor would not work. Bought a new motor, New motor is installed. How do I bleed/install/correct fluid issue. I lost all the fluid out of the unit when I unscrewed the manual release.

How much fluid does the system hold? How do Ii bleed it? I have to tow back to florida tomorrow and Cant right now because the motor is dragging.

I beleive I'd just do the manual and lift the motor up pop it on the motor suport or perferably a transome support and haul it home that way, secure.
Not sure on all the other ????

Fill it at the reservoir. There should have been circlip that keeps the manual release screw from coming completly out. Put the skeg on a block of wood. With the manual release screw in but not tight. Trim the motor up for a count of 5 the motor should not go up. Then trim down for a count of 5. Do this 5 times and tighten the manual release screw. Trim should now work properly. Repeat if needed.
