My Goodyear Marathons are worn out on my Rangertrail trailer. I know the Marathons are now made in China and I'm starting to hear bad things about their performance. Considering Maxxis M8008 ST Radials. Has anyone used these tires?

I have never used them but i have decided that they are going to be my next set of tires. I am due to put a new set on my Z21 Ranger Trail now, i am just dragging my feet for no apparent reason. I spoke to a gentleman that runs a auto transport business with multiple trucks and trailers and he spoke very highly of them. I think if they are pretty good carrying cars around they can handle my boat. He did say the key was to keep them inflated to max psi.

The problem with running a car or truck tire on a boat trailer is their sidewall is not made strong enought to support the trailers weight and the only reason someone would tell you to keep the max psi in a car or truck tire used on a boat trailer is so the sidewall dosen't wrinkle ( premature wear ) and could cause a sidewall blow out under the weight of the boat.

Yes I have used them for the past 3 years. Seem to be pretty good. No failure yet . Wear is normal for the age of tires. I do like the fact you can get them with white letter.
They are not car or truck tires, they are trailer tires. What I meant was if they are good enough for him to haul cars and SUVs around on his trailers they surely can handle my boat. He said he has had no problems out of the Maxxis tires so long as they are kept at max psi. He mentioned that just as with other trialer tires, if you run them at lower air pressures ytou get uneven wear.![]()

I replaced my Marathons with the Maxxis and am happy so far. No problems at all, I got them at Discount and got the certificates in case I have any problems. I have towed it back and forth from Houston to Falcon lake several times without any issues.

I'm not sure of total miles I've put on them in the past 3 years but, they are waring well.![]()
I am beginning to use them on all of my trailers. I have origanly put them on my landscape trailer 8.5x20 enclosed trailer. They have about 30-35k miles on them and have held up very well. I also have them on my boat trailer. As I replace tires on my other two trailers I will be putting these tires on them I highly recommend them!
Have them on my Skeeter tailer and my Airstream, couple of years now. So far so good. The Marathons that I had on both, gave up pretty quick.
