Best way to completely purge water from the hydraulic line?

Just discovered that the hydraulic line is all gunky, pretty sure that means water has gotten in it, and that means water in the hubs also, I imagine. I know how to purge and clean the hubs, but don't know how to be sure I've gotten all the crap and water out of the lines.

I can use a compressor to blow air through the lines. Is that adequate or is there also something else I need to do?

I have the same problem.

What I was planning on doing is undo the brake lines at the hubs and unplug the elec connection for the trailer. Then in my driveway with a couple of buckets to catch the brake fluid just move back and forth with the truck to let the surge cylinder pump the reservoir down. Add clean fluid pump it down, add some more, etc. until I am happy. It will sacrifice some brake fluid to flush everything out but money well spent in my opinion.

Maybe - I'd worry that the volume and rate of flow would be too low to force out all the gunk in the line.

A good brake flush would solve your problem. I would start out with a good pressure bleed to get the pressure moving to move the gunk. Then I would do a brake flush if you have asccess to the equipement(a vacuum bleeder). Do that until the fluid runs clear and clean. Then I would do a final bleed to make sure you have all the air out. If you cannot get a flusher then just keep bleeding until all the air, water, and crappy fluid are out of the system.
