I noticed one hub is low and milky and the wheel is covered with old oil. Does anyone have the seal part number for the axle seal on a 2005 ranger trailer with turbo cool oil hubs? I'm hoping I can get one through napa if someone has the seal number through them.

I have a 2005 Ranger 520 with tandem axles. 2005 was the first year that Ranger went to Tie Down Engineering for their axles, hubs, brakes, actuators, etc. The seal part number on my hubs is 171255. HOWEVER........you want a Triple Lip Seal, not a Double Lip. Part Number 171255 is just the dimensions of a seal......1.71 inch inner diameter and 2.55 inch outer diameter. You can get the Triple Lip from Ranger or maybe Tie Down. I doubt if NAPA has a triple lip.
Thank you very much! I found the triple seals online for $3.50 each and ordered 4 of them and two day air shipped them to get them by the weekend.

Got a call from where I ordered the triple seals, that are out of stock and the manufacturer isn't making them anymore so they are liking for a new supplier. I can't get thru to ranger parts and tie down doesn't do retail sales so now I'm sitting with no boat until I can track some down. How long would a double lip last?

If it were me, I'd keep calling Ranger's parts department. They can ship overnight if you're willing to pay the freight. The double lip will work.....but it will leak oil sooner. If Ranger has the seals in stock, order two sets......just in case they become extinct (sp?).
Got thru this morning and ordered seals, bearings, races, and brake pads....$191. OUCH...lol I also found the seals on amazon and ordered the last 5 for backups. Now I have the problem of the fill plug being stripped and can't get it out. My bad luck just doesn't end.
