I have a 2004 Ford F150 and I need to switch the 4 flat plug to the 5 flat plug i need to tow my ranger. I cant find a diagram for the wiring. Where do I tie the extra white wire into? If anyone has any suggestions please feel free to post.
Thanks

White wire is your Ground. The 5th wire should be BLUE and it goes to your backup lights to release the trailer brake solenoid when backing up.

Don't know if your truck is wired where you could get a 7 way round and plug into the system you have now. That would be the best way to go if it would work. Then get a 7 to 5 adapter. My 2004 came with the 7 way. I'm thinking the wiring on the truck might be the same, just your truck did not come with the 7 way. Just check it out. I could be wrong on this but it would be worth checking. Good luck

You also need to check your reverse trailering relay is plugged into the socked under your hood fuse box. Ford was bad about not putting this relay in. If it is not there your trailer brakes will not release when you put it in reverse. Ford house sells them and they were about $11.00.
