So what is the verdict? I have a trailer factory equipped with oil bath hubs and disk brakes. The spindles on the back (with brakes) look cooked. The front ones look new, and all 4 sets of bearings are good. This is out of a Stratos trailer with about 10k miles on it. (2005 model)

From what I have gathered, the heat from the disk brakes is more than the oil can take. Also, the seals are prone to leak going in and out of the water, especially when they are hot.

As much as I would prefer the oil hubs simply from a maintainence standpoint, it looks like they may be more trouble than their worth.

Probably going to put 4 new stainless steel bearing buddies on it.

Give me some opinions.

Thanks
