My trailer is starting to get pretty eat up. Was thinking about welding some plates to the middle of the cross members for bracing. Has anyone done this? Is it worth it or is it time to look at a new trailer?

I put gussets on my trailer years ago to stiffen it up as the corners of the cross members were starting to crack from the flexing.
I had 1/8" steel plates welded on each side of the center crossmembers. One of them broke completely so I had to repair it and went ahead and did the next one that looked like it wasnt long for this world
