I just got ST tires put on my rims for my trailer, and in order to use them, I'm going to need about 1/16" more clearance from the springs. Is it safe to shim out the rims with 5 washers?
This is really my only option aside from going back to 195/75/15 tires, which would mean using car tires, not trailer tires.

You can try wheel spacers, but stay away from washers. With spacers, you need to make sure you have enough threads for the lugs to bite or you could lose a wheel.
I am going to guess that somewhere along the line that your trailer used to have 14 inch rims with 205/75/14 tires. The 15 inch rims are just to big.
