Looking at a used boat with single axle trailer, the trailer is newer but when the now owner got it, he was having trouble with the surge brake locking up...so he cut off the swing away tongue, eleiminating the brake and put a new tongue on it! so now this trailer doesn't have brakes, so if i buy it should i go with an electric brake setup? anybody know ballpark of what they run? he has used it for 4 years without brakes, but it is a 19' boat with a 200HP motor, in my mind i need brakes.
