    Brake pad automotive equivalent

Anyone know the automotive brake pad application for my 1999 TR18? It has UFB disc brakes. No dealer around here has them in stock and I am not getting a call back from either Triton or MFI trailers. Auto parts store tried to match them up but there were too many to look through. Even if I could narrow it down it would help. All 4 pads are the same.

    Thanks,

    Swede

Not sure about the 1999 but the book that came with my 2002 says:
    1991 Plymouth Acclaim
    1991 Plymouth Sundance
    1991 Dodge Datona
    1991 Dodge Sprint
Will work but be sure to use only organic,non-metallic pads.
I guess you could take yours and see if they match the ones listed.
Mine are Trailer Buddy disc brakes......Good luck

You are exactly right. MFI trailers gave me the same application and told me to use organic pads too. Seems like only the semi metalic and ceramics are available now. I used the Semi Metalic. I don't think the wheels will fall off. Anyway, only piece of advice
I will add is that the outboard pad has a couple ears and a wear sensor, but it fit without hitting anything. Could have used a hack saw to make it like the inboard or got 2 sets and used the 4 inboards. Also, there was a clip on the outboard that wouldn't fit in the caliper, but it broke off easily with a pliers. this whole thing started when the hold down for the brake hose came loose and the line going to the left wheel broke from flopping around. So I had to bleed it when I got done and here's something weird...bleeder is on the bottom at the same level the line comes in. Not sure if it would bleed like that, so since I had the calipers off anyway, I rotated them so the bleeder was at the top and it bled easily.

Sheesh, I had the broken line done in a half hour without even taking the wheel off, but ended up putting new bearings and seals, pads. Chasing down all the correct parts was the time consuming part. Had to go to 3 parts stores for the bearings and races!

The problem with the metallic pads according to the book was rust. Not sure how much of a problem that would be with the semi metallic ones. Looks like the bleeder should be on top to get the job done. Not sure how mine is set up.

I think it the full metalics are probably too hard for the rotors, might chew them up. I thought about the rust thing and really the rain would rust them as much as launching. Anyway, we'll find out.

Let us know how it works out. So we (I) will know what to use when mine needs replaced. Good point about the rain though.

Brakes have worked fine for several trips, so the 91 dodge shadow pads did the trick.

I did install a set of high Metallic pads, and trust me! they will stop you on a dime and have a nickle left! BUT after a month of running they will squeak and grind you out of your mind going down the road.Stay with the ceramic! Quiet and no grinding on the rotors. Lyn Dyer is the man!
