I am buying a 2005 Stratos 200 XL but do not know what connector the trailer has on it. I have a 2000 Chevy Tahoe which has a 4 way flat connector but don't know what I need for the trailer? Any idea what trailer mfgr. or connectors Stratos used on that year of trailer? Don't want to get down there and not be able to connect it. One person said I would need a 7 to 5 way flat so it would disable the trailer brakes. Why would I want to do that? Any help would be much appreciated.

I do not know the connector that is on that trailer but it is probably a 5 flat plug. You should probably call whoever you are buying it from to make sure.
The 7 to 5 way plug will only do you any good if you have the round trailer connector in the rear if you just have the 4 way plug, you will probably need to get a round connector installed. The fifth wire is connected to the backup lights, and deactivates the trailer brakes when backing. But you can get by without it if you have to for a short while.
