150 Faststrike, yet another leaking fuel in carb question

Sorry guys i'm a real noobie on engine repair, but i just want to make sure i got this right.. or is it much worse

    Model # J150GLERA
    Serial # 03551862

Other day on the water after warming up 10 mins and putting out to main channel the engine alarm went off.. alarm, pause, alarm, pause until i turned off the engine and restarted it, was good for the rest of the day..

for the past few spring outtings i have noticed when i tilt up and back down to drain water from my engine.. a bit of fuel was running down the main shaft under the engine..

I took the cowling off and noticed the front carb cover has about a 1/2 a cup of fuel inside.. then noticed the mid left right carb was leaking to the side or maybe my driveway is slanted side ways but its a very fast drip until the pressure inside the bulb is gone...

    thanks !

Time to replace all six carb bowls part number 433000 also replace the bowl gaskets. Do one carb at a time. Did you install those fender washers on the side plates? Check the oil level in your oil tank too. Sounds like a low oil alarm.

That was a common problem in the mid 1990's as it was due to the sealer that OMC used that was not compatable with the ethanol fuels that came 10 years later. New float bowls are the correct fix.

Best get 6 OEM non aftermarket carb rebuild kits too. You shouldn't need any fender washers on the carbs. Looks like somebody tried to fix some warping.

The fender washer trick was used if needed on the 4 screw side covers if they were not completely flat and sucked air causing a lean idle. It was not needed on the later 5 screw side covers.

It was a redneck fix that worked well in that situation.
