    Food plots

I was just wondering thought it might be a good discussion
Most states will not let you bait Deer & other game But you can plant food plots to attract them & hunt the plots Is that not baiting them too ? How long do you think it will be before they start something about it ? I mean planting food for them isn't any different than just leaving a pile of apples or a feeder in a field for them

Don't get me wrong I'm all for the challenge of the hunt & baiting sorta takes some of that ( ok a lot of it out ) but it seems now a days you have to do something to keep the Deer around your area specially if you don't have a huge hunting property I've got about 70 ac. with a few horse pastures I've got some pines
and vine thickets to hold Deer but not much food keeping a pile of apples or a corn feeder seems to help hold them in I really can't see the the difference

    Re: Food plots (goose)

I think food plots are a very important part of quality deer managment...keeping them in good nutrients year round helps with growth, and keeps them interested in your property...having said that...I think it's better to hunt trails coming/going to food plots rather than on top of them...
