Minnkota Talon bracket failure

Lets start with I really like my Talon on the back of my SKEETER Zx225! The sandwich type of mounting bracket however has stress cracks at the two bolt holes nearest the engine (top and bottom). Wouldn't have noticed this but I was installing the new mount that allows for lowering my Talon for storing in my garage.
Check your bracket mount. I've only towed/fished this 3 times since installation.
Working with MinnKota to ensure this isn't a bigger concern for us all.

Randy, Tell me a little bit more about this lowering bracket. I might be buying the Talon in a few months and the clearance was a concern.

Minn Kota talon, old style brackets suck....They cracked my top cap near the motor on my z520...Its off my boat now and I will never buy another anchor from them again...There horrible and top heavy

just finished installing the new fold down bracket. Looks great and functions as advertised. Kit came with a support that allows for lowering and supporting to prevent contact with fiberglass. Well worth the money as I will now not have to loosen the mounting hardware.
When I contacted my SKEETER dealer (Performance Marine, Batesville MS) about the mounting bracket failure, they took it back without question and drop shipped a new bracket to my home. This is the new style bracket and they have sent this in for analysis. It has a 5 year warranty.

I'm getting great customer service from Minn Kota regarding the bracket failure. I have the new style and will reserve additional judgement until I can put some more hours on this installation.
Yes, the original bracket sucks...but they are not ducking me and I will work with them until I become dissatisfied with the product line.
Hope your damages were covered by insurance.
