How to install anchor on bass boat?

Anyone know how to with photos to share?

This would be to anchor fish for other species on the rivers/lakes...

2) unwind rope to approximate depth

3) toss in water

4) attach rope to BOW cleat when it catches

Bow cleat is key word... anchor on the stern and it might get interesting.

The bigger the boat and higher wind the more rope you need to let out. I have let out 50-60' of rope to hold me in 15' of water with a 2-3' footers. Also make sure you tie off on the bow not the stern.

I would also use a fluke anchor not one of those round river anchors. Those don't hold worth crap unless you have a pile of rocks to anchor too. It is also up to you if you want to use a chain from the anchor to the rope. Some do to get the anchor to set but if you just let out enough rope it will set and you don't need a chain.

The rule of thumb when using a "fluke" style anchor is you need three times a much rope out as the water is deep. E.G. 15' deep...you need 45' of rope.

You are right the trick is to put out at least 3 times the water depth in anchor line
and 3 to 4 feet of galvinized chain or you can buy rubber coated chain, easier on gelcoat,will really help the anchor settle in.

this would not work,his ??? was how to "install anchor on bass boat" 6" lag bolt with large fender washer,find appropriate location you like and install.
