I was wondering what is the best 2 part epoxy to use to mount a puck style transducer. Also, do I need to rough up the hull a little with sandpaper before mounting the transducer?

I use Devcon Plastic Welder, which I get at Ace Hardware.
You need to rough up the hull and transducer both, then clean them both with a solvent like paint thinner to get all the dust and grease off. Use plenty of glue.
If you have integrity, nothing else matters. If you don't have integrity,
nothing else matters.
+1 on roughing up the surface. I used slow cure epoxy, the faster the cure the more brittle the end product, so stay away from the 5 minute stuff. When you mix it try to minimize the air bubbles and let it rest before using it to get the air out of it.
Also prep your area by making a little circle berm with putty, take the rig out and put a little water in the pool. Put the transducer in and test the finder, make sure you get the signal you want and you can test moving the tranduser around alittle. Once you are sure how you want it mounted. dry out the area and put in the epoxy and set the transducer making sure ou don't get any air pockets under it. I set it in at a angle and twisted in to place then leveled it. Weight it down and let it cure.
