I assume you are talking about the Yamaha. I had a Ox66 in a 2002 model and 150 hp. It ran great. I have only run one 150 so can't compare fuel economy with other motors. But I would buy one in a heartbeat.
thanks for the info.
Very reliable motors. Aren't as good on gas as an HPDI but not terrible. They are rock solid and you will hear that from a lot of people on this board.
This is like the third time in the past couple of weeks I've vouched for the OX66, but it's such a good motor, I don't mind doing it again.
I've got an 01 200, and love it. I bought the boat because it had the motor on it. I had to choose between my boat and the exact same boat, but with a 225 Evinrude for the same price, and I gave up the 25 hp for the sake of the VMax. They're awesome. Go hang out in th Yamaha forum, and you'll read alot about.
They've got a couple of small, managable issues. Fuel pumps being one, and the O2 sensor being another, but both are easy, affordable fixes. Beyond that, be sure to us a 10 mc fuel/water separator and you'll be good to go.
