    Prop Play?

'07 Merc 115 Opti/Merc Laser II, approximately 15 hours on the clock... Is it normal to have a slight amount of play in the fit of the prop to propshaft? I've not seen this on other like models that I've examined, but I've had it since day one.

There's only a slight bit front-to-back, and an extremely small amount of side-to-side play.

I've had the prop off the motor and there's nothing suspicious (filings, galling, nicks, etc) in either the hub or on the propshaft. Splines and everything look fine. Re-assembled and snugged back up to spec, and the play is still there.

Don't know if this is a problem, but I'm sure that someone here will have the answer.

    Thanks

A small amount of front to back play is normal. Are you sure that there's actually side to side play?

The side-to-side is barely noticeable, but it's there.

Guess I just need to run it by my "local" dealer (60 mile round trip) so I can quit wondering about it.
