The boat manufacturers typically list the boat length and the package length. I know that package length is the boat on the trailer, but does it include a motor? If so, is the motor up with a transom saver?

I don't think that there is actually an "industry standard". I know the packaged length would be with a motor attached, Not sure if that's sitting on a transom saver, or in the trimmed down position. If it's really important I would pull a tape myself on the rig I was looking at buying. Any salesman that really wants your business would be glad to do it for you, if you called & inquired. I would be very surprised if all the posted lengths you see in brochures were exact.![]()
Thats what I did I took a tape measure to the dealer. I needed my boat to fit in a 1 car garage. 17 foot Nitro just fits
Overall lenght on my rig with the motor trimmed up and no swing away is 29'5".

Fine add 3' for motor overhang, and 4' for the trailer tongue. Hull +7' should get you close enough.
my garage is not very deep at all. was shopping around for a shorter boat, but of course wound up with one a full 20 " longer than will fit straight into garage. have a small coat closet that backs up to the garage, knocked out the sheetrock, did a little weekend carpentry on the studs and she'll fit straight into the garage. funny thing is, when you open the closet, you are face to face with my outboard! and as you probably guessed, not married either!! learned that buying a boat is like getting a tattoo, always get it bigger than you think you want!
In the 2006 Nitro catalog, they show both lengths. WITH motor toter and without. I
thought that was kinda handy info.
