99 225 Johnson HO and fogging oil

First time I fogged the carbs and plugs. Haven't had time to use so I decided to do it today. I also did my little Merc.
I sprayed it in the carbs like the directions said to until it stalls but it never stalled out. I sprayed and sprayed and sprayed and it would even act like it was going to stall. It smoked pretty good. What gives?
I did the merc first and it stalled with about a 5 second spray. Not the big motor. I sprayed about a good minute and almost used the whole can doing that.

Did you spray it by the maintenance port on the primer or shoot directly down the carb throats? It may not stall out either way but if it smoked like crazy that is what you want. Your goal is to coat the internals for a long winter nap.

Hi there, I have the same motor and when I winterized mine this year through the maintenance valve mine would not stall either. Similiar to you it smoked pretty good. When I did it the year before last it stalled out but I had installed new plugs at the beginning of this season and adjusted the carbs a bit so perhaps it made a difference.

Pretty sure the both of us will be ok .............

I took the air box off and shot it directly down the carbs. Same thing happen this past summer when I decarbed it, it wouldn't stall out.

What was the idle RPM? If it is up above or the area of 1500 RPM it may not die out.

Idle RPMs are 1000 rpms on the muffs once I let it warm up. I did let it run for a few minutes before fogging.

No back pressure can make this happen. As long as the motor "Bogs" you are OK.
