    Re: grout cleaning (gcopple)

Sort of a few days late on a response but try a steamer or grout cleaner.

I have alot of years as a tile installer and as a maintanence tech. It's really best to leave it to someone who has a high power extractor vacuum. You can get a cleaner/degreaser at a local "chain" store but what happens is that stuff leaves so much residue that it actually attracts more dirt. The vicious cycle never ends and your grout gets dirtier and you can't figure out why. I'm talking about stuff along the lines of the ZEP products at Home Depot. JUNK. A professional has access to chemicals and cleaners that you don't.

The proper way is to get the proper cleaner and agitate it with a medium bristle floor buffer pad and then extract it with a heated water 1200 psi spin-head attachment that rises and sucks simutaneously. That's the equipment we use and produces phenomenal results. Even if you did have the right chemical, all you're doing is scrubbing it deeper into the grout if you can't extract it.

    You asked..:)
