well... got the bathroom tile up and everything looks great BUT..... the tub spout leaks out to the back. I went out and bought a new one but same thing. The problem is the pipe. Its kinda chewed up underneath where the set screw was seated numerous times by the previous owner. I can pull the spout out till the o-ring just slips onto the pipe and no leak but its too far from the wall if I do that. The O-ring isnt making a good seal. Is there anyway to build that copper back up in that area? I've tried smoothing it out with some emory cloth but that didnt really help. I can get to the joint (I think) and solder in a new piece of pipe but am kind of worried about catching the stud on fire thats behind it. The hole isnt big enough where I could get something in behind the joint to dissipate the heat nor can I heat the joint from the rear. Ideas? Thx!!!
