    Paint Sprayer??

I am looking for recommendations on a paint sprayer that I will use in my basement to spray concrete walls. Currently using a 4" brush using Dry-Lock.
The sprayer would be used for the latex indoor paint.

I do have an air compressor if that helps.

    thanks

If you are wanting to spray the Dry-lock, it's pretty thick if my memory serves correct. Need to make sure the sprayer you are looking at can handle that product. If you just want to spray the regular paint then your options are wider.

Can't offer much support on brand/model as I'm still using the Wagner model I bought in the 1980's (I think it's a 300 series, but I'm not sure - was their best hand held model at the time).

You can use a hopper to apply the dryloc. For the paint ,,dont use air, you will not get enough mills to make it worth the time. Call your rental stores or check with different paint stores and see if they have a rental available. You will need a 4/17 tip or smaller, and preferably new. This will make a difference of how many gallons you will use. Use caution with these because your looking at 3000psi coming out of the tip.

a paint sprayer can give you an instant tattoo if you hit yourself with the guy. Do follow all safety guidelines. The majority of rental places will have airless sprayers that should handle your drylok. You may want to add a product like flotroll or penetroll to make the paint a bit less stiff. mask anything you dont want paint on and make sure all doors are masked tight, no chance of overspray making it into your living space this way.

    good luck

My experience with some rentals is the paint stores that rent want you to buy the paint from them also. Personally I would want the store that sold me the paint to mate me up with the proper machine. If your halfway through a wall and the gun goes down your screwed. If the concrete is less than smooth you may be tempted to spray on too heavy to fill in one coat. Be prepared to shoot the product and backroll to fill the pock marks and holes. Brush and rolling is easier if you dont have time to commit to a rental. Set up a roller with a 1inch nap or heavier. Put a roller screen in a five gallon bucket and roll. Use a heavy duty rolling handle because you will be pressing on the walls to get the paint to cover. When your done with a section you put the roller in the bucket and put a cover on it tightly. You can square up a spot and pick it up later.
