How much should I expect to pay for replacement and installation of windows in a house trailer of decent quality. It's a summer place at the lake and I want to keep expenses to a minimum but still get the job done. Any suggestions of do's and don'ts would be appreciated.

They run about 500 a opening here for just the window more for trim and a wrap
Here in Tn they run around $300. Say take a 3/0 x 5/0 runs $150 for window. Then the installer charges $150 to install and trim out. I don't know about VA. Are you on the coast? If so you may need high wind load windows.
No I'm in southwest Va. No real need for high wind windows. Thanks for the numbers and advise.

just replaced 15 windows in a house that was over 100 years old.The windows ran around 180.00 each. This is with both sashes tilting in for cleaning,also with low E and argon gas,and with half screen.Full screen was a few bucks more. I fill any void area around window with spray foam. I usually charge around 75 $ each for the replacement and caulking in .
windows low-e with grids i pay about 180-225
and install for 75-125
If you look around you should be able to get windows for that for around 200 installed.
Replacements for house trailers are not as commom as in stick built homes.I'm a contractor near Clifton Forge and the company I would call frist if I were in your shoes would be window world in Salem. The walls on a trailer often are not framed with 2x4 lumber so the windows for a house won't work in all trailers. Window world has some windows as cheap as $189 plus tax installed.Hope this helps.
Beware if the home is pre 1978 it HAS to be tested for lead in the paint. If lead is found it has to be treated specifically per EPA rules since April 22.Make certain your contractor of choice is EPA RRP certifed. Standard replacement windows can be used. but a different type of exterior wrap must be created as windows measure 3.25 inches thick.
I suggest a window using an IG unit with a foam spacer (Superspacer by Edgetech) between the glass. Warmer edge as well as a seal failure rate far less than a metal (intercept by PPG) spacer.

In NJ it was about $300 a window with original trim removed, new window installed, window caulked in(and screwed of coarse), original trim reinstalled and outside capped if needed and caulked.
Gary, I have had them quoted for my house and for normal style windows, they are around $200 installed and $250 for oversize. This is a West Window replacement. If you check with some local guys, a lot of them have contacts at West Window and can get a discount or they will know when they are on sale.

Please do your homework if someone is telling you that they will be providing and installing a (decent)window for $200......... Maybe a small guy taking cash in hand can do this but even that is hard to imagine..... between overhead, garbage removal, caulk, time, employee salary you are not making a dime at this price.....Unless it is a low quality window that the guy picks up for $100 a piece....
Not saying it can't happen just beware and do your homework make sure you are getting what you want..
XM Sean, you are exactly right and people need to do their research. We (Gary and I) are lucky were we live and we have a widow manufacture local and are able to get greater deals on their product. We also have small crews that are local and that is all they do. This is the way that they are able to stay so low in price. My personal deal is that I have a two man crew that does all my home home projects that are out of my league. They are good honest people and treat me right. Everyone is slow right now and looking for work. These guys would rather have jobs lined up and make very little profit than have nothing at all. We are in a depressed area with 20% unemployment, so the cost of living is very reasonable.
