    Carburated Johnson 150 (2000) missing

I could use a little insight as to what is going on. At idle to 3/4 throttle everything seems fine. boat will come up on pad and run fine out to about 45mph (gps). Once I put my foot into it and try to go WOT the motor starts missing and top end is around 53mph. To me it seems as though one cylinder isn't firing. After I got home i pulled all the plugs and found no evidence of any fouling. In the bottom half of the motor cover I found the bottom coated with a fuel and oil mix.

I have a 1995 150 Fast Strike that does the same thing I would like to know. I believe it may be electrical, like a power pack or stator but not sure.

    Re: Carburated Johnson 150 (ChampioNman)

Thank you for the help this morning Fred. Got the parts we talked about and have everything back together again. Will try and run it tomorrow to see if there is a difference (I am sure there is going to be one) While I was at it today I ran a compression check on the cylinders. All 6 came back at or close to 120. Not to bad for a 10 year old motor that gets used about 100 times a year.

Have both of you made this adjustement? http://www.bbcboards.net/zerothread?id=357667 - On mine there is a return spring that was broken.

Good talking to you too Jeff! Been awhile. If that don't get it give me a holler and we'll go forward. BTW Tell Robbie his old motor is still hauling butt!
