I'm running a '02 225 Evinrude FICHT, and just wondering what the proper water pressure should be when running at idle and at WOT. Trying to figure out if I have a faulty guage or not. Guage shows that it runs up near 50 psi at either speed. Thoughts?
3 - 5 PSI at idle, 18 - 20 WOT. Sounds as if you need a new gage, that is the way they act when they have been frozen!

miine has only shown higer tahn 20 a few times about 3 years ago and then stays around 18 to 15 wot. ichange the waterpump religously.... must be a gauge malfunction trash etc...
I had a feeling the gauge was bad. Bought the boat used. The lower unit is brand new as is the water pump so I know I'm good there. Guage seems to stick around the 50psi mark running or not. Have my mechanic coming over next week, will have a new guage installed.
