    Problem timing ficht 200

    Every time I click on the start timing button on diagnostic prog the engine stops?? Any ideas why . The target box says 20 deg btdc would this be right . Wonderin if stalling because timing is wrong .just got emm back from dfi so assume that's ok.problem is I don't think the timing was right before I sent the emm for repair.

    Check the timing before you enter the TIMING MODE with the software. Is it close to 20°?

    You can sometimes increase the throttle very slightly so the motor keeps running but if you go too far, the software will pop up and say idle only. Another tip is to go to the injector settings and richen them up a bit and that sometimes keeps the engine going, especially if you are doing this on a flusher.

    You did set the timing pointer first per the manual so you know it is accurate, right?

    The ability to idle without the various inputs from the sensors which are disabled when you start the process is affected by the bad injector. I suspect as SeaHorse mintioned in your earlier post that you have another problems, possibly another low flowing injector. On my old 200 Ficht I sent all of my injectors to DFI Technologies. It turned out two were bad, when reinstalled I could then set the timing. Since you know you have one bad have it repaired and see where you are.

    Thanks dan so is possible that although injector appears to be working when doing dynamic test it could be failing at higher revs/ demand .Just wish I knew of place in uk for these repairs postage both cost and time is a killer.Do you think an automotive injector repair centre could do job and get install disks coefiecents etc.

    Nope, an automotive injector is nothing but an electrical on-off valve and those places only clean them and check the flow afterwards.

    They do not have the super expensive calibration equipment to measure milliseconds, pulse rates, higher voltages, flow rates, and plunger strokes of a FICHT injector. It's a whole different animal.

    Thanks Seahorse was afraid that might be the answer .Think maybe i should have listend to people before i bought a ficht and left alone .Seemed a bargain with only 60hrs on clock 12 of them have been with me trying to get it running proerly.Never mind with all the stuff ive done to it cant be far off now
