Store bought boudin, I like the Richards. Not too sure about andouille, or tasso. Sure Dauthier or one of the others will be able to help with that.

I like the Savoie's for the andouie and tasso for mass market you can't beat rods country mart in Church Point though for any of those items I am like Christa I like the Richards Sausage products better (again mass market)

I like the Savoie's for Boudin, Andouille, and Tasso, they have a pretty good product. Take that Boudin, and put it on the BBQ pit, keep it turning until it is just about busting, and saturate it with BBQ sauce....

Here is a link, they have some good prices, and all good products.

I'm rather partial to home made varieties...the mass marketed stuff to me just ain't that good.....for boudin, the best I have found is jerry Lee's in Central...he also has the best hog head cheese I have EVER seen...not sure if he ships or not, but with as popular as his stuff is, I wouldn't doubt it...about the only boudin I have had that came close was Comeaux's in Lafayette just off the strip....

Andouille, I usually get from the guy who owns the little store down the road....he makes some really good andouille and smoked sausage...he has all sorts of varieties of sausage...I just usually get all my stuff from him....some kick butt jalapeno and cheese pork sausage too....has his own smoke house....home made tasso too.....

A man from NY probably don't understand that there ain't no brands in LA, mostly just local grocery stores. I 'specially never heard of a branded tasso or boudin.

IMHO the best brand is what you can buy locally, now matter where you are.

I live in PA now, but grew up in TX, lived in south LA and central AR before moving north.

Thank you LA for your great recipes and food,

    Gerald
