I put this in my pond and plan to put in about 3 or 4 more. I drilled 3/4 holes around the bottom and weighed it down with small stones. the flexible drain/vacuum hoses are stuffed with styrofoam and they float in an upright standing position. I ran a nylon tie through the end of each hose to keep the styrofoam from sliding out. When I slipped it over the side of my boat it sank quickly and I never saw it again.
