    Trolling Motor spray

How many time have you jerked up the TM and got in your seat crunk the big motor then your off to your next fishing spot then about the time you get on plane you start getting bombarded by the water that was in the TM housing. And you just have to bear with it for a min. or two. I know this has lead me to drive one eyed in the past.

A quick fix to this is when you get the TM up hit the switch for a second and it will get rid of most of the water in the housing.

    Re: Trolling Motor spray (dirt2801)

After a couple months it becomes a good habit. I have done it for 20 years, and it works with all brands. Great tip.

FYI... Won't work with a MK Terrova. The power is automatically cut off when you hit the stow/deploy leaver.

I just make sure that the prop side is to the passenger side, don't really worry about how much water sprays as long as it's not on me

I like the sound of that feature, if you ever pulled it up and had the prop over the bow of the boat it can do a mighty lot of smashing if it kicks on by mistake...or so I'm told

I did that with my Tracker and mashed the carpet like crazy, it was a good lesson though now I always make sure the prop is floating in air over the outside of the boat.

Even worse if it's your shoulder while the boat is on the trailer. Or so I've heard

yeah. if you try and drive it with the TM in the water its just as good as a shower. its even better when you lift it up running full bore on constant. then you just drop the cord and run like a sissy. or so ive heard.
