A tip to make chrome clad wheels look like new.

Bought a Dodge Charger last August, it has the 20" chrome clad wheels. Detailed the car yesterday after the winter and sure didn't like the way the wheels looked.
Being that they are plastic wasn't sure what to use on them......they're not real chrome.

Used Meguiar's PlastX plastic cleaner and polish and they look like brand new again; I highly recommend it.

Are you saying the 'wheels' are plastic?

Garland..........most of the "chrome" factory wheels these days are actually chrome clad. The face of the wheel is chromed plastic and then glued to an aluminum wheel. Tap any chrome wheel on a new car/truck and you'll find that most are plastic.

Hey AL, I bought some of this PlastX this weekend and tried some on the Windshield of my Stratos. It took out some of the minor scratches and the windshield looks great!! Thanks for the tip!!

Wow, you live and learn, then do they put a conventional wheel weight on or do the put on a sticky weight like they used to do on my Porsche on the inside of the wheel out of sight?

I used it on my bug deflector and made it look new again, didn't have to buy a new one.
