    Evinrude steering arm clips

For those who use the factory motor bracket to store your motor instead of using a transom saver you will need clips to go on the steering arms to keep the motor from moving side to side while going down the road.

You can make you own clips out some 3/4" PVC . Just measure the length of the steering arm and cut the PVC to length. Then take a drimel and cut a slot from end to end down the PVC. Then start cutting the slot making it bigger until the PVC pipe will snap over the steering arm. After you make the final cut take some sand paper and sand down the rough edge and you are finished.

Another tip I would like to include... but did not take a picture is an easy way to store the clips when not in use. When I take the clips off I raise my lid to the bilge area and slide them onto the bottom lip of the deck lid. When I am preparing the motor to go back home they are only an arm lengths away when I need them but stored out of the way when I don't need them.

This is a view of the slot cut into the PVC

In this picture the slot is turned downward.
