I'm sure this is old news to many, but I thought I'd post this tip anyway..

One downside to the wiffle spools, is will allow water to get to your bearings, on both sides.

Here's a easy fix.

Before you spool your reel, wrap the spool a couple of times with teflon pipe tape!

It will have NO effect on the casting performance of your reel, and will keep the water out of your bearings! Believe me, it works!!!

Now that's some CHEAP insurance for your High Dollar reels!!
