    Senko Tip

Everybody always complains about going through a lot of GYCB Senko's and there have been products made to lengthen the life (rings, tape, glue, etc) But as a guide I do not have time to go through all of that with clients. Here's an eay way to get them to last.........Put them in your cooler. If they are cool the plastic is a little tougher. If I am running from one spot to the next, I will put them with hook and line attached in the cooler. And I swear, the fish like the cool texture more.

Fact is Senkos catch fish. My take on this is if I catch a couple of nice fish on a bag it's well worth the money. They work well wacky style after they start getting tore up.

I might catch more on the real Senko if they didn't fly off after 3 casts

I like the Strike King version, especially the green/chartruese laminate. But my go-to is a local company...Money Mouth Baits. Their 5" fishbone in watermelon red flake loaded the boat last summer.

Does being cold and hard not effect the action? I would think so.

Personally, I like the PTL stuff because I can buy a pro pack of 25 for the cost of 1 pack of Senkos.

I do this too but I use small(1/8) pieces of milkshake straw. Works great.

I bought a Senko type of injection mold and make my own. I can add as much salt and flavor I like. I have not noticed any differences in the amout if fish I catch with either bait. Even though I make my own, I still have a bunch that I had purchased before. The Senko is a great bait and they are loaded with salt that is why the tear so easly. I also will repair them by heating up an exacto knife blade and running it through the tears and it melts them back togethere great. Also a great way to add a different color tail to a bait. When melted the plastic will attach to each other like it was poured that way.

wow I have tried almost all of the senko style baits I could find and I have to agree with most GYCBs work the best, bass pro has a good one also, I dont really like the way tikki baits fall, but only had a couple of bags of them, but hey use what ya brought LOL

Boy, this went from a Great Tip to which stick style plastic is best too fast.

Start a new thread. You can argue there. Geeeshh

I use the Head Case from Paycheck Baits. Works good. I would feel that freezing the senko will kill some of its action.

I'm still a big fan of Senko's. The Yumdingers work about as well, but they do not come in some of the colors that are really good, like the green/white. If you use a 4 - 5 ought hook with the screw attachment, they last a little longer. An article in Bass Masters Magazine a few years back compared all the top brands of Senko style worms and they all were relatively close of time of fall. One may be better than another at certain times during the spawn. Same is said for any crankbait, buzzbait, or topwater.

The senkos sink better than most because of the density and weight in the plastic and salt mixture

No other brand matches the senkos characteristics and that is why they catch more fish
Also cast farther due to there weight
