I have a friend that blew a powerhead on an E-Tec 250 2008. It threw a rod due to a injector malfunction.

This was at a FLW AFS tournament on the Potomac River. The E-Tec support service replaced the powerhead in like 30 minutes, with a fully dressed 2010 powerhead.

The service tech said the powerheads for the 225, 250, 300 were all the same. The only thing that makes the motor a 225, 250, or 300 is the programing.

Is this true.

I have no knowledge with the E-Tecs. I have only ran Yamaha and Mercury.
