My front seat pedestal has bent at the base. The pedestal post is still straight. I'm assuming I need to peel the carpet back, unscrew and replace the base. Are any of you guys aware of the steps involved?
Not sure what to use to release carpet. There isnt much of it to peel back. Also what replacement part I need. And finally, is it fixable?
My boat marina told me the carpet may need to be replaced? Hard to believe, there has to be a way to release the carpet with something, then wash it out and glue back down with "Henry 263 Weatherpro" outdoor carpet adhesive.(I learned about this stuff in the BBC forums, I used it when I made other fixes.)
The reason this happened is I am 5'6" and the pedestal length to trolling motor pedal is too far, so I put strong pressure against the pedestal versus sit down on it.
