My boat trailer rims look really dull and have what looks like brake dust all over them. i have tried basic car wash products with no luck. Not really in a position to replace them, any ideas on some products to try to restore their finish?

If they are like the wheels the on my Ranger trailer they actually have a coating on the wheels that's become dull and hazy.
Steel wool and Acetone will take it off but it takes some time and a lot of elbow grease.
