Started tearing out carpet tonight. Was thinking of padding the front deck. I have some underlayment pad left over from some wood flooring in the house.
Would this work good as padding? Is there something special anyone uses when padding the deck before a carpet install?
you will want to use a closed cell foam I done my whole boat it feels great to the feet
Do you have a link? I just did mine but Im thinking about redoing it to get the foam. Thanks!!

Went without the pad. I submerged a piece of that foam in a glass for 3 days and it didnt hold any water, so I guess it would have worked.
I have majority of boat re carpeted. Used BassCat 24 oz. I will have complete rebuild up this weekend. My boat is old, so I had to make my own locker lids and center deck piece. Previous owner tossed the rod locker lid and the little compartment lid on the starboard side. Nothing I can do but rebuild and try to replicate a new model boat for the front deck. My Stratos had the open front deck in center and in front of driver windshield.
Everything is going good considering Im working 60 hours at my job and then coming home to do this at night. 14-16 hours days for the past week. I can see the end though!!
I just done a search for closed cell foam. It's been a couple of years so dont rem. co.
